FTA Dangerous Goods Network

FTA's Dangerous Goods Network has been established for professionals dealing with the safe transport of dangerous goods, in particular qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisers.

Emergency information in writing - Tremcard service

To enable drivers and emergency services to deal with incidents involving the carriage of dangerous goods by road, national and international regulations require dangerous goods vehicles to have emergency information in writing - Tremcards. The information must be set out in a prescribed format in a language the driver can understand and in the language of the countries of origin, transit and destination.

Anticipation in Great Britain of 2007 Editions of ADR and RID for Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail

The ADR and RID rules are updated every two years, and therefore the current 2005 editions will be replaced by a new set in 2007. Under the European Union’s ADR and RID Framework Directives, member states of the EU must make consequential amendments to their domestic regulations to implement the changed provisions of ADR and RID when these are updated.

Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser Conferences 2005

Department for Transport Dangerous Goods Unit poster on the transport of dangerous goods

The Department for Transport has designed a new poster, to coincide with the 2005 (Amendment) Regulations. The poster explains new requirements relating to driver training and security.

British ADR Regulations - briefing sheets

British ADR aligned dangerous goods transport regulations came into force 10 May 2004. They are being actively enforced by VOSA, the police, and HSE.

New Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail Regulations 2005
