The following routes have been identified by members of FTA’s South East England Freight Council as the most congested parts of the regional rail network most urgently in need of upgrading and further investment.

Investment priorities for the South East Rail Network

	to West Midlands, the North West and Scotland
	to West Midlands, the North West and Scotland
	Great Western Main Line to Avonmouth and South Wales
	to the Mendips and the South West
	to Southampton
	to Channel Tunnel and the continent
	Medway Ports (Sheerness) to Hoo junction
	to Thamesport
